In the past few weeks, I've twice watched someone back out of a game because I chose the character they wanted to play. Both times, it was because my game defaulted to the character because I didn't make a selection. In one instance, I even apologized after noticing the other player had wanted to be the character I had chosen, but the player backed out anyway. It's important to note that in Apex Legends , selection order is randomized. In both cases, my name popped up first on the selection menu, meaning I had every right to choose whichever character I wanted to play. Regardless, backing out for something so mundane is problematic because my team is forced to play the game as a squad of two up against squads of three, which makes the game much more diffic

The easiest fix would be to play only with players one trusts. However, one key issue is that my friends range from far better to me to far worse than me, which poses challenges with skill-based matchmaking. Even though my K/D is below one and I have a win rate of 5 percent, squadding up with my higher-skill friends means there will almost certainly be Apex Predators in our lo

When a child is robbed of her innocence, it's unclear what path her future will take her on. In Loba's case, the death of her parents at the hands of the murderous simulacrum named Revenant sent her down a dark path of vengeance and crime. Her parents were murdered when she was just nine years old, which in turn led to her getting taken in by a foster family. Over time she realized her parents were wealthy thanks in large part to their skills as thieves, a skill she inherited and learned to use the rest of her l

Further, this could help balance the lobbies. The theory would be that someone who has gotten "good teammate" accolades has earned the right to not have to squad with potentially toxic teammates. It wouldn’t have to be the case every game, but the "good teammate" would overall have the benefit of playing far fewer games with potentially toxic rand

If you're familiar with the Syndicate in the world of Apex Legends than chances are you've at least heard of Revenant. During his introduction to the game, players witnessed him kill Marcos and Alanza Andrade, the people who happened to be Loba's parents. At the time she was a witness to the entire event, despite being no older than 10 when it happened. This has given her a lifelong mission of vengeance and she hates Revenant more than anything else in existence. Their relationship when on the same team is less than ideal and 100% uncomforta

It's meant to resemble the bloodstains on her eyes when she witnessed her parents being murdered at the hands of Revenant. It's a reminder of her past, while at the same time giving her a spark of flair that makes her stand out even m

Loba is voiced by a woman named Fryda Wolff, who's been an active actor and performer since 2003. Her name might not sound familiar, but in recent years she's landed some big roles in the video game space. She not only voiced Sara Ryder, the lead female protagonist in Mass Effect: Andromeda , but she also happened to voice one of the eight major characters featured in Square Enix's Octopath Traveler , Tressa Colzione. One listen to any of Loba's numerous quips with show you just how talented she is at bringing her to life in a real

The powerful close-range shotgun is a must-have for those who love fighting in tight spots and the Gift of Power skin makes it a bit more of an art piece. The mostly white and black design is accented with fiery balls of what looks to be lava cascading from the gun itself. It may not be Season 5's best skin, address here but it certainly isn't its wo

Sometimes in games, it feels like cosmetic items are universal and meant to work with a variety of characters, and sometimes it feels like they were made for an unnamed perfect pairing. The Gilded Hunt skin for the Charge Rifle definitely feels like the latter as the aesthetics of it magnetize it to the engineering legend, Wattson. The stark white coloring with subtle patterns makes it feel more like a tool and less like a weapon. Considering she dabbles with electricity, maybe the Charge Rifle is Wattson's preferred gun of cho

If this list was simply about ranking the names of all of the Season 5 weapon skins, you'd be hard-pressed to find one better than the Bad Mojo skin for the Spitfire. The Spitfire is a large and powerful light-machine gun that was once highly coveted but has recently fallen off due to players preferring other weapons in its weapon cl

Ever since his initial inception, it seems the designers at Respawn Entertainment wanted Revenant to come across as what they described as a "synthetic shinobi." Shinobi are stealthy covert agents that are often simply called ninjas. It doesn't seem as though Revenant is completely robotic, and his human brain is likely what makes him synthetic. The game has a wide cast of characters for players to choose from and its neat that they added one that's unnerving and terrifying, but at the same time exudes a certain level of c
